Discussion Sites
Each HomeTown Information Center has a feature called "Back Fence". These are discussion sites, open to the public at large, for expressions of opinion on general topics of interest to the community.
Municipal sponsored discussion sites allow ongoing online interaction among the public, or a group you specify, concerning a topic(s) you choose. Users may post messages to which others may respond. An excellent tool for collaboration on a project, or to solicit public input regarding local issues. Site access may be limited by password protection or open to the public.
Costs to setup and maintain discussion sites vary depending on usage.
Discussion sites may be incorporated into your website or hosted as a stand alone connected to the HomeTown Information Center Network.
